Patna: One person was killed and another was injured in a firing incident during a tilak ceremony at Katiyara village of Vanas police station in the district on Monday night. Upendra Narayan Yadav, in-charge of Vanas Chowki, said on Tuesday that the deceased was identified as Anath Paswan, 23, son of Rampathi Paswan, a resident of Bara Parsia village in Dabath police station area. Police handed over the body to relatives after an autopsy on Tuesday.
He said that Guddu Paswan, son of Phulan Paswan, a resident of Katiyara village, was married to Lalon Paswan, a resident of Persia village. In the same vein, on Monday, people from Persia came to Katia to pay their respects. Yadav said some people opened fire on Harsh during Tilak, killing Anil Paswan and Bhim Paswan, a resident of Rupi village, and seriously injuring both of them. He said that after informing the police about the incident, the family took him to PHC, where the doctor declared Anil Paswan dead and Bhim Paswan was referred to Sadar Hospital for better treatment. Yadav said an FIR had been lodged against the four on the statement of the deceased’s cousin and Upendra Paswan, a resident of Medinipur village. Police have arrested all the accused.
