New Delhi: Amid growing cases of coronavirus, there is news of a relief for corona patients in India. India’s Drug Controller General (DCGI) has urgently approved the use of another vaccine for the treatment of corona. The drug has been developed in collaboration with DRDO’s Institute of Nuclear Medicine Allied Sciences and Hyderabad Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology. This drug is named 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG).
After successful clinical trials of the drug, DCGI approved the drug for the treatment of corona. Rapid recovery has been seen in patients on whom the drug has been tried. At the same time, the dependence of patients on oxygen has also decreased. The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) said in a statement on Saturday. The DRDO said in a statement that it can be easily prepared as it is an analogue of generic molecules and glucose. Also, it can be made available in a larger size.
