Islamabad, May 21: Pakistan on Friday officially handed over three home-built JF-1 Thunder fighter jets to Nigeria. According to an official statement released here, the warplanes operated by the ‘Pakistan Aeronautical Complex’ were included in a ceremony held at the Nigerian Air Force base in Maijurdi (Nigeria) to mark the 57th anniversary of the Nigerian Air Force.
Nigerian Defense Minister Major General (retd) Bashir Magashi and Pakistan Air Marshal Syed Noman Ali attended the ceremony. Air Marshal Ali said the event was historic for Pakistan’s JF-1 program and demonstrated the strong military cooperation and confidence between the two countries.

The JF-17 Thunder is a lightweight and multi-role fighter. China has developed the technology for this aircraft.
