25 talented wrestlers selected in selection trial in Guru Hanuman Akhara


New Delhi, 20 November (Sanmarg) 25 talented wrestlers were selected on Friday, the second day of a two-day selection trial at the capital’s historic Guru Hanuman Akhara, under the Sports Authority of India (SAI) ‘s Northern Region arena plan. A total of 38 wrestlers from 8–16 years of age from Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh participated in this selection trial.
Giving this information, Guru Hanuman Akhara’s director and Dronacharya Awardi Mahasinha Rao said that the team members of the selection process closely monitored the performance of these promising wrestlers and selected 25 wrestlers. Mahasingh told that 20 wrestlers are to be selected under this scheme. He said that five reserve wrestlers have also been selected so that if a wrestler withdraws due to any reason, then another wrestler can be replaced. He said that he would urge the Sports Authority of India Director General Sandeep Pradhan to increase the seats. The wrestlers who have been selected include Sagar Bharti, Shaurya Kumar, Ankush, Gaurav Goswami, Zaidan Ali, Lakshya, Rohit, Abhijeet Soin, Russian Chaudhary, Rahbar Hussain, Yash Gehlot, Mohit, Hardev Rana, Hitesh Vats, Abhishek Tomar, Yugraj Maan, Chintu, Ayush, Mohit, Arbaaz, Dhruv Ahlawat, Krish, Rohit, Vivek and Gaurav. Mahasingh informed that a thousand rupees, sports kit and allowance will be given by Sai on behalf of selected wrestlers every month at the time of sports kit and wrestling competitions.
