Rann Star and Bal Bhavan in the quarter finals of Ganaur Premier League


Sonepat, 20 November (Sunmarg): Ranji player Deepak Punia’s all-round game (3/32 and 68 runs) and Vaibhav Kandpal’s 68 runs helped the Ran Star Club defeat Kurushreshth University by five wickets on Friday in the Ganaur Premier League cricket tournament. Entered the last eight. Playing first, Kurushetra University scored 186 for eight wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. In reply, the Ran Star achieved the target by losing five wickets. Deepak Punia was awarded the Man of the Match award.
In another match, Bal Bhavan Academy defeated Noida Wonders by six wickets to enter the quarterfinals with the help of Delhi Ranji players Kunal Chandela 78 and Dev Lakra’s brilliant bowling 4/23. Playing first, the Noida Wonders team scored 167 runs losing seven wickets in the prescribed 20 overs, with Karan Sharma scoring 34, Harshit Sethi 33, Unmukt Chand 24 and Ayush Jamwal 24 not out. Dev Lakra took four wickets and Vansaj Sharma took two wickets towards Bal Bhawan Academy. In reply, Bal Bhavan Academy scored 168 for four and won the match by six wickets. Kunal Chandela scored 78, Arpit Rana 37 and India U-19 player Mayank Rawat scored an unbeaten 27 runs. Prashant Bhati and Railway’s Ranji player Harsh Tyagi took two wickets each from Noida Wonders. Kunal Chandela was presented the Man of the Match award by the organizing secretary Sanat Jain.
