Rohit and Ishant may have trouble playing test: Shastri

Sydney, Nov 22 (Sunmarg) Indian team coach Ravi Shastri has said that if batsman Rohit Sharma and fast bowler Ishant Sharma have to make a place in the Test team against Australia, then they will have to leave from Australia within a week.
Both Rohit and Ishant are currently completing their rehab at the National Academy Center in Bengaluru. During the recently concluded IPL, Rohit suffered a hamstring injury while Ishant had a rib problem. Ishant returned home in the middle of the IPL while Rohit returned home after winning the fifth title.
Shastri told ABC Sports, “They are completing their rehab at NCA. Only NCA will be able to clarify how many more days it will take but if the time is more then their dream of playing Test series in Australia may be in trouble. ”
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy begins between India and Australia on 17 December. But before that, the team will take part in a three-day practice match from December 11. In view of the Kovid-19 quarantine rules, players have to complete 14 days of quarantine upon reaching Australia. In such a situation, Rohit and Ishant will have to complete their quarantine by 10 December to take part in the practice match. For which he will have to reach Australia on 26 November.
Shastri said on Rohit’s absence from the limited overs series that he would never play a limited overs series. He just wanted to see how many days he needed rest, because you cannot rest long. He said, “If they have to play in a Test match, they will have to catch the flight within three-four days or else things will get difficult.”
