Chennai, May 15: On Saturday, Chief Minister MK Stalin said that action would be taken against drugs used in the treatment of Kovid-19 patients in Tamil Nadu and those who sell oxygen cylinders at higher prices under the strict hooligan law. The Chief Minister has instructed the police that some people were selling injection vials of Remedacivi at higher prices and their arrests were reported.
In a statement, Stalin said that while the ban was affecting livelihoods, the public had taken the “bitter pill” of the lockdown and helped save lives, as well as marketing black by preserving some “anti-social elements” drugs. “Similarly, in some places, oxygen cylinders are being sold at higher prices,” he said. Such incidents are a serious crime when an epidemic occurs. The Chief Minister said in a statement, “I have directed the police department to take strict action against remedial injection hoarders and those who sell oxygen cylinders at exorbitant prices.”
