Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a big gift to the Vindhyas of Uttar Pradesh. The Prime Minister has laid the foundation stone of 23 rural piped drinking water projects in Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts of Vindhya region under Water Life Mission, Uttar Pradesh through video conference. The plan will cost a total of Rs 5,555.38 crore. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has joined the Gram Panchayat Karmaon of Chatra, the development block of Sonbhadra district, the main event venue.
Under the central government’s Har Ghar Nal Yojana, the Yogi government will start supplying drinking water through pipes in 1,606 villages of Mirzapur. This scheme will directly benefit 21,879,80 villagers of Mirzapur. The plan to connect 1,389 villages of Sonbhadra will also be started. 19,534,58 families of these villages will join the drinking water supply scheme. In Sonbhadra, water from the lake and rivers will be purified and supplied for drinking.
The government will spend 3212.18 crore rupees on this scheme in Sonbhadra. The water collected at the dam in Mirzapur will be purified and made potable and supplied. The cost of this scheme has been fixed at Rs 2343.20 crore. According to departmental officials, a total of 41,414,38 families will be benefited from the schemes of both the districts. A total cost of 5555.38 crore has been fixed on the scheme. According to the officials of the Ministry of Water Power, the water supply will be started in the villages after completing the scheme within the next two years.
