The 43 bridges also include 7 bridges in Ladakh, which are strategically important and will assist the armed forces in the movement of troops and weapons.
The defense minister will inaugurate the bridges in 7 states and union territories in an online program. The Defense Minister will also lay the foundation stone of Nechifu Tunnel on an important road going to Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.
These bridges will facilitate deployment of troops on the Line of Control (LoC) and Line of Actual Control (LAC), and will also make it easier to carry weapons and other supplies to help the troops deployed along the border. Local people will also benefit from these bridges.
