Golden Globes 2024 :This year, tuning in to the Golden Globes 2024 was more than just watching stars and guessing what might happen at the Oscars. The 2022 show got canceled because of issues in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association about ethics, money, and diversity. So, in 2023, the Golden Globes got new owners, and the Hollywood Foreign Press group went away. The big question was: how would the show change this year with new people in charge?
As the story unfolded, some things happened just like people hoped, but there were surprising moments too when the show ended. “Succession,” the TV show with the most chances to win, made history by getting the same number of wins as “Mad Men” and “The X-Files” in the best drama category. This show had already won in 2020 and 2022, and this time, three of its actors, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfadyen, got Golden Globes 2024.
But not everything went as planned. “The Bear” and “Only Murders in the Building,” both with five chances to win, had different outcomes. “The Bear” got three awards, while “Only Murders” didn’t win anything, showing that Golden Globe 2024 can be unpredictable.
In movies, “Oppenheimer” had eight chances to win and got five awards, including the top prize for drama. Cillian Murphy also got an award for best actor in a drama, and Christopher Nolan got the best director Golden Globe 2024.
In a surprising twist, “Barbie,” with the most movie nominations, only got two awards. It even beat “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” in a new category, showing that the awards can be a bit unpredictable.
