The NHAI is planning to put up flyovers at flood and accident-prone regions on the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane highway. Flyover designs are being finalised for busy and black-spot areas on the four-lane motorway. NHAI has previously surveyed flyovers between Solan and Kalka. The NHAI crew has now assembled for the Kiratpur-Manali fourlane flyover research. Plans are also underway to build flyovers in Dador and Jhiri on the four-lane Mandi district road.

Flyovers will also be built at Nagchala and Nagvain. Heavy Rains and floods in the Beas River during the monsoon season recently caused major harm to the Kiratpur Manali fourlane road. There are also initiatives to improve the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane highway in line with national regulations. NHAI is working together with IIIT on this project, and a new Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be submitted to the ministry for approval.

Varun Chari, Project Director of NHAI, confirmed the survey for the four-lane. Monsoon floods and landslides have had a negative impact on the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane road. To improve the alignment beyond the safe limit, the National Highways Authority of India has sped up the process. Travelling on the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane road will become more comfortable in the near future, and its condition will probably get better.
